Principal Post

Dear Families,
Today we gathered at the 9am Ash Wednesday Parish Mass to signify the beginning of Lent. We are reminded of the importance of spending some time in reflection in preparation for Easter. What can we do to be more faithful to our God, to be there for and serve others; our family, friends and those particularly in need.

Out of School Care Provider Term 2
Beginning Term 2, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) have determined that MACSEYE will be taking over the provision of Before School and After School Care at St John Vianneys. They will be taking over from Camp Australia. It is the MACS vison that MACSEYE will eventually be service provider of OHSC in all Catholic Schools. Our school will start with MACSEYE in Term 2. Attached there is a Flyer and a letter of introduction.
The Service hours will remain the same and the service will continue to operate in the same location.
Further information will be provided from MACSEYE and once we have this, I will pass this on. Please note that there is a MACSEYE contact number on both the bottom of the flyer and letter should you wish to have specific questions answered.
John Hannah House Visits
This week we started our community visits to John Hannah House. Grade 5/6MR went over and learned more about the Lunar New Year together. It was wonderful to see these joyful interactions between the students and the residents.
Responsible Pet Ownership Program
Last week, our Foundation students participated in the Responsible Pet Ownership (RPO) program. During the session, they learned about living safely with dogs and what it means to be a responsible pet owner. The students particularly enjoyed discovering how to safely approach 'Cooper' the dog and how to properly care for pets at home. It was a fun and engaging experience for everyone -we just hope Lenny the dog wasn’t feeling too jealous!
Student Awards
Nina won an Empathy Award for the kind way she includes and think of others.

Carpark - Before and After School
Please be watchful, patient and extra careful in our carparks. PLEASE OBEY parking signs in and around the school As we welcome our new families this term, the front carpark has become exceptionally busy, so we kindly ask for your continued patience and cooperation to keep traffic flowing smoothly. Please ensure that you do not block the road or the entry and exit points, as keeping these areas clear is vital for the safety of our students. For a faster and more efficient experience, we highly recommend utilizing the Kiss and Drop zone at the back gate. This is a safe and easy option where teachers are always on duty to assist, allowing you to bypass the front congestion while ensuring your children transition into school safely.
