Serra Terror

King's Birthday Long Weekend

We are excited to let you know that registrations for our annual community endurance event, Serra Terror are LIVE.

Serra Terror complements school programs and extra-curricular activities, such as Outdoor Education, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Cadets.

The event runs over two days in the Grampians area on 7 and 8 June. Teams will battle the terrain and the elements as they hike, run or scramble the (roughly) 85km course. The relay team element of the event provides an opportunity for participants to develop teamwork and leadership skills, connect with nature, boost physical and mental fitness and build confidence and independence.

We have welcomed the participation of school teams over the past couple of years, & this year have set aside a number of spaces specifically to encourage student participation. (Of course, we'd love to see school staff and parents enter too!)

We offer reduced rates for students, at $150pp for teams of 8 to 10 participants. Team members need to be at least 16 years old and each team must have two adults/students (18 years or above). There must be at least one adult on each section of the course and parental/carer approval must be provided for all students under the age of 18.

The timeframe provides students with the opportunity to develop fitness plans, seek sponsors to help cover their participation costs, or they may choose to explore fund raising opportunities for a charity of their choice.

More information about Serra Terror is available at: https://www.serraterror.com/

Students wishing to register at the reduced student rate, will need to get in touch so we can provide them with a registration code. We will be able to answer any questions to ensure participants and their support crew possess all the information they need to have a rich and rewarding experience.

We also offer volunteering roles for students who are not able to participate, but would like to be involved.

We are a small volunteer committee which is passionate about this event. We recognise the value it presents for our youth by promoting physical and mental health, fostering community spirit and an appreciation of the local environment. Funds raised go back to the local community.
