🌿 Sustainability at OGPS: Nude Food & Active Wednesday Return! Plus, Our Third ResourceSmart Star! 🌿

We are excited to announce that Nude Food Tuesday and Active Wednesday are back at Ocean Grove Primary School this week! These initiatives support our ongoing commitment to sustainability, healthy living, and reducing our environmental impact.

🍏 Nude Food Tuesday encourages students to bring a rubbish-free lunch, using reusable containers and avoiding single-use plastics. By making small changes, we can significantly reduce waste and keep our school and local environment clean.

🚴 Active Wednesday promotes a healthy and active lifestyle by encouraging students to walk, ride, or scoot to school. Not only does this reduce traffic congestion, but it also helps students start the day with energy and focus.

These initiatives align perfectly with our ResourceSmart Schools journey, and we are thrilled to share that OGPS has just received its third star—this time for Biodiversity! We now have the energy and water start to achieve to become a 5 star sustainable school.

Through efforts like planting native gardens, creating wildlife habitats, and involving students in conservation projects, we have worked hard to improve biodiversity at our school. A huge thank you to our Sustainability Captains, dedicated staff, and wonderful parent volunteers who have supported these initiatives.
