Garden Club

What a busy and productive week it has been for our Green Team! Thanks to the amazing helpers from Gardening Club, we’ve made huge progress in the school garden. Together, we weeded, tidied up, and gave our garden and veggie beds a good spring clean. We’ve also planted beautiful flowering bedding around the school to brighten up our outdoor spaces. Not to mention, we’ve composted and prepped the beds for our new crop of veggies—exciting things to come!

A huge congratulations to Year 1AN for winning Joey, our school sustainability mascot, this week! Their efforts in keeping their classroom clean and tidy, along with their excellent use of bins, truly impressed us. Well done, Year 1AN!

We’d also like to celebrate our new Year 5 Environment Leaders—Zoe M, Pat, Rhyley, and Zoe G! These dedicated students have been leading the way in recycling and waste reduction. They did an incredible job assisting with the recent bin audit and even presented at assembly last week. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to sustainability!

Lastly, the Environment Leaders got to go out into the garden where we planted a fresh crop of vegetables and tended to the beds. Our new Environment Leaders rolled up their sleeves and dove right into the garden. The Environment Leaders from 3-6 then helped with painting the veggie boxes. We are using one of our favourite artists, Yayoi Kusama as our dotty inspiration.

Thank you to everyone who’s been involved in these projects. Your passion for sustainability is making a real difference in our school community!

Let’s keep up the great green work! 🌱💚
