MaST Project

As students enter their classrooms for 2025, learning is already underway. To start our learning in Mathematics we begin the year engaging students with Measurement and Geometry units of work, which will be followed by whole number focus areas. Please find below the Learning Intentions which students will be covering over the next two weeks. 

Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6): Three-dimensional Objects

Students will learn to visualise, sketch and construct three-dimensional objects, including prisms and pyramids, making connections to two-dimensional representations. 

Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4): Position

Students will learn to use grid maps and directional language to locate positions and follow routes. 

Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2): 2D Shapes

Students will learn to recognise, describe and represent shapes including quadrilaterals and other common polygons
