Glen Innes Highlands Lioness Lions Club

Did you know?

 

Glen Innes Highlands Lioness Lions Club is one of two Lions Clubs operating in Glen Innes. The focus of our club is supporting the community, especially young people. We do this in a number of ways: 

  • Our club provides reading helpers to Glen Innes West Infants School to assist young children develop vital literacy skills in the early years of school.
  • Donating prizes for end of year presentation days to local schools to recognise student achievement.
  • Each year we coordinate Hellie’s Toy drive providing Christmas Gifts to children & teenagers in Glen Innes who might otherwise miss out. 
  • Hosting the Youth of the Year Public Speaking Competition to help develop interview and public speaking skills of high school students to Improve their prospects on entering the work force or university.
  • Provide a scholarship each year for a Year 12 student who is planning on future study but may need some extra financial support to achieve their dreams.
  • Assisting families in need when they come to us with a specific request for assistance where other help is unavailable.

Glen Innes Highlands Lioness Lions Club also supports local events by manning the gates at the Glen Innes Show and Minerama, participating in Christmas in the Highlands and other events when our help is requested.
