Assistant Principal
Wellbeing and Learning Support
Dear Lockleys North Primary School Community,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal for Wellbeing and Learning Support at Lockleys North Primary School. It is an honour to step into this role while Nik Skrob is contributing his expertise as the Senior Advisor in Inclusive Practices at the Department for Education.
This appointment marks a significant transition for me, as I have spent my entire career thus far in the classroom. The opportunity to expand my role, collaborate and support staff, and work more closely with our wonderful families and students is very exciting for me. I am eager to continue learning and growing in this new capacity, ensuring that our school remains a supportive and nurturing environment for all.
I am committed to fostering a community where every student feels valued and supported in their learning journey. Together, we will build on the strong foundation already in place, focusing on wellbeing and inclusive practices that benefit every member of our school community.
I look forward to meeting each of you and working collaboratively to support our students' success and well-being. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have.
Exciting Initiatives Ahead
We are pleased to announce that 2025 School Ambassador applications have been sent out to classrooms across the school. We aim to begin meetings at the end of this term once successful applications have been accepted. Students from Year 3 - Year 6 must submit a written application and students from R-2 are selected by classroom teachers. There will be two representatives from each class.
This program is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and contribute positively to our school community.
Additionally, we are kick-starting the year with the "Aussie of the Month" for Term 1, where staff will be recognising students who exemplify our school values of Pursuit of Excellence, Care and Concern, Respect, and Honesty. The February Aussie of the Month for Mellor, Torrens, and Fisher will be announced at the next Whole School Assembly on Friday, 14th March 2025. Mellor and Rowell will rotate each month for Early Years award recipients.
Thank you for your warm welcome and support as I embark on this new chapter.
