TERM 1 WEEK 4 2025
As we embark on a new school year, it has been a truly wonderful start, and the term is progressing at a remarkable pace. Our students and teachers are deeply engaged in high-quality teaching and learning experiences that are designed to challenge and support our students' growth, both socially and academically.
We also want to emphasise the importance of punctuality and establishing routines that set students up for success. Arriving at school on time allows students to fully participate in the day's activities and maximises their learning opportunities. Our classrooms also have these approaches to help set students up for success at the beginning of the day and on return from recess and lunch.
Consistent routines help students feel prepared and confident, contributing to a positive and productive school experience.
Our commitment to excellence is aligned with the Department for Education's (DfE) Strategy, which plays a crucial role in fostering school growth and development. By utilising the DfE Strategy, we ensure that our educational approaches are not only innovative but also inclusive, providing every student with the opportunity to reach their full potential. This strategic approach is vital for creating a nurturing and dynamic learning environment that supports the holistic development of our students and contributes to the overall success and growth of our school community.
Learning Conferences will be occurring with families and students during Weeks 8, 9 and 10 (17th March to 4th April).
Students, family members and teachers will:
Reflect upon and discuss Learner Quality reflection/analysis
Identify Learner Quality goals and collaboratively develop evidence to demonstrate success
Discuss English and Mathematics goals, sharing strategies to support this learning at home and at school
Discuss strategies to ensure goals are met
As per usual, if families have queries regarding their child’s learning at any stage of the year, they are invited to make contact with staff.
All bookings will be undertaken through https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code from Friday 7th March at 3pm. Further details will be in the Week 6 newsletter and emailed to families.
Basketball and Netball Rings
Over the past two years, the Governing Council Community Engagement Committee have been raising funds to replace the three basketball rings and have new netball rings and courts installed next to Torrens. Our fundraising goal has been achieved and the new rings will be installed in the Term 1 school holidays. Well done to the Community Engagement Committee and our community for supporting this initiative.
