Principal's Report

As we come to the end of Week 4 of Term 1, there is a wonderful sense of momentum and engagement across our College. Already our students have embraced new challenges, connected with their peers and teachers and demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and personal growth.
A highlight for Term 1 is always our Opening Mass and Leadership Commissioning, where we gather as a whole-school community in prayer and excitement for the year ahead. This significant event, held on Tuesday, allowed us to officially entrust our 2025 Student Leaders with their roles, while also celebrating our Year 12 students as they received their Year 12 badges – a moment of both pride and responsibility. Guided by this year’s theme, 'Hospitality – Open Doors, Open Hearts, Open Minds,' we look forward to fostering a culture of warmth, inclusion and leadership throughout the year.
Another key event was the Learning Mentor (LM) Evening, a night dedicated to connection, goal setting, and academic discussions. Families, students and staff came together to establish learning goals, discuss study habits and reinforce the importance of strong partnerships between home and school. We extend our gratitude to all who attended and remind families that the Learning Mentor serves as a key advocate and support for each student, making these relationships invaluable.
This week our Year 9 Amplify students took part in their first Provocation Day, an immersive experience designed to challenge and inspire them to think critically about making a difference in their community. With an engaging keynote address from Shannon Walker from Vivid and a series of hands-on workshops, students explored how they can be leaders of change in their own unique ways.
Finally, the spirit of friendly competition and House pride was on full display at our Whole School House Swimming Carnival yesterday. It was fantastic to see students of all year levels participate, cheer each other on and celebrate both individual and team achievements. These moments of camaraderie, sportsmanship and school spirit remind us of the importance of community and engagement beyond the classroom.
