La Trobe University Infinity Award
Prior to the start of the 2025 school year, La Trobe University ran its Infinity Awards Day with recipients of the 2024 Award. St Joseph's College student Samantha Serpell was the lucky recipient of this award and was thrilled to attend the event.
During the day students learned about higher education and the experience of studying at university, toured the La Trobe University Bendigo Campus and student accommodation, participated in a Study Smart workshop, heard from the Future Students Centre about courses offered at La Trobe University and received a first-hand explanation of the experience of studying at university from a current student. Students were also spoiled with goodie bags and a plethora of morning tea and lunch goodies including slices, muffins, fruit, soft drinks and pizza!
All students who attended said the day was worthwhile and had increased their knowledge of La Trobe University and what it would be like to study at university in the future.
University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)
UCAT is an admissions test used by the UCAT ANZ Consortium of universities in Australia and New Zealand for their medical, dental, and clinical science degree programs.
Universities requiring the UCAT are listed at this link - Universities requiring the UCAT but also listed below. Students intending to apply for courses requiring the UCAT at any of these universities are reminded that they will need to book a test.
NOTE: The UCAT ANZ test is changing in 2025. The Abstract Reasoning subtest will be withdrawn from the test. The new test format will comprise 3 cognitive subtests: Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, and the Situational Judgement Test.
The new practice tests relevant to the above-mentioned change, will be launched in early March 2025.
Students who are preparing for entry into any of these courses are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the format of the test at UCAT Test Format and the practice tests and preparation material provided at UCAT Preparationwhen available.
Bookings will open on 4 March 2025 and close 16 May 2025. The testing dates will be from 1 July 2025 to 5 August 2025.
