Welcome back to 2025!

We are very excited to welcome all of our students back to another action packed school year. Our focus, supported and celebrated by our staff, students and families,

will continue to be on the key elements of our College Mission: Faith, Care , Learning, Service and Stewardship.

A number of activities have already commenced, resulting in the smooth transition of students into their news classes. The year 7 students have settled into the College routine and will commence their Peer support activities from next week. Our first senior Fundraiser took place today, with our students dressing up in a Valentines theme, and our fours Houses, Patrick, Marcellin, McAuley and Patrick met this afternoon  to prepare for our Swimming carnival next Friday.

A significant highlight that occurred last Friday was our High Achiever assembly. This is where we acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the Yr 12 Class of 2024. We are proud of the achievements and growth of all of our students and are so pleased we were able to celebrate the students that achieved outstanding results.

I also addressed the assembly about how proud we are of our College and how each of our students are expected to  ‘LIVE THE MARIAN WAY’. I outlined three key areas for our students:

RESPECT - The importance of demonstrating respect to all community members on a daily basis. This is done through attending school and classes on time, allowing others to learn and reach their full potential as well as having pride in their school uniform. It is also demonstrated through the respect of College rules and boundaries such as our mobile phone policy as well as through respectful communication to all College Stakeholders.

GROWTH - At MCC we want to develop the whole student and give our young people the opportunity to thrive in their areas of passion. We ask that our students serve the College through taking advantage of leadership opportunities or by joining one of our community service teams e.g. Wellbeing Committee or Community Action team. To attend study, games or art club, participate in school sporting teams and social justice initiatives, the options are endless…. To live the Marian Way is to serve.

COMMUNITY - Kindness is key! To speak and act with kindness is beyond important to the mental and emotional wellbeing of all of our staff and students. This goes hand in hand with consciously interacting with kindness online also. To ensure that the ‘hands off’ rule is respected, even when it may be in jest, but also to understand that our College will not tolerate bullying of any description. We encourage our students and families to communicate with us if there are any concerns in this space, so we can support each other in stamping out any type of bullying behaviour. 

The success of the above points will allow our community to continue to flourish. Our school has grown and developed for a number of years into the impressive educational institution with a vibrant and diverse community it is today. I have no doubt that we will continue to grow as 2025 will be our best year yet.
