Lake Nillahcootie Camp
Fifty-two excited (and slightly nervous) children departed on the buses ready for an exciting camp adventure. They were eager to discover which cabin they were in, who was in what bunk, what the showers looked like and explore the camp. Camp activities included the flying fox, canoeing, climbing wall, low ropes, obstacle course, and archery. On the first evening, a campfire brought everyone together for marshmallow toasting until the sudden appearance of lightning sent us back to our cabins. The students embraced the challenges of each activity, some of which pushed them out of their comfort zones, allowing the children to see how strong and brave they could be. There were lots of laughs, sore hands, wet bodies, lost hats, lack of sleep, early mornings and so many ‘ding, dong, ditches’. So much fun was had over the three days. We thank the children for their wonderful behaviour. You make us all proud.
