House Leader Reports

Apollo Report

Hey Apollo!

As we wrap up this year and get ready for the next, let’s take a moment to celebrate what we’ve achieved together. This year, Apollo has truly shone, with everyone bringing their unique strengths to the table—whether on the sports field, in the music room, on stage, or during a heated debate.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the journey - the hard work, the laughs, and the teamwork leading up to every event - is what makes us unstoppable as a house. Each moment this house has shared has built the foundation for an even brighter future.

So, Cory, consider this your warning: Apollo is just getting started, and we’re aiming higher than ever!

Here’s to an amazing year and an even greater one ahead. Let's fly high, Apollo!

Blackwood Report

HEY KNIGHTS!

Blackwood has been busy lately, and we’ve got something exciting to share!

The Captains worked to put up a board for our Year 12s called 'Senior Wrapped.' It’s near the entrance to the art rooms and shows off their baby photos alongside their favourite songs. It’s a cool way to celebrate our seniors, and honestly, some of those baby pics are worth seeing!

If you haven’t already, go check it out! You’ll get to see how much they’ve grown and maybe even find a new favourite song to add to your playlist. It’s been such a hit with everyone, and we’re so proud of how it turned out.

Stay tuned for more fun projects and events as we keep building that Blackwood spirit!

GO BLACKWOOD!

Kororoit Report

Hey Kororoit!!

The new year has (technically) started!! I hope you’re all settling into your new classes smoothly during this transition week. The Kororoit Leadership Team kicked things off on the 14th of November with the annual Leadership Day, where all the captains came together to plan an exciting range of events, activities, and strategies, built and honed essential leadership skills, and set the tone for the year ahead!

Our first event of the 2025 year, Intermediate Debating, saw our house demonstrate inspiring spirit and dedication, despite not being able to take home the win. We would like to take a moment to acknowledge the effort, determination, and invaluable contributions of our debaters and researchers, Samuel Brooker, Lily Li, Ananya Vasishtha, and Aadhya Rengarajan. From countless hours preparing arguments and rebuttals behind the scene, to their compelling deliveries on the day, they represented Kororoit with pride and resilience. Another shout out to Ashlee Grigg, our Initiatives Captain, for her exceptional leadership, organisation, and encouragement throughout this event.

With the Summer holidays right around the corner, I hope you’re all looking forward to taking a well deserved break and some time to recharge your batteries. We have a packed calendar of events ahead of us in 2025, and we’re confident that with the passion and enthusiasm of our house, the House Cup can be in Kororoit's hands once again.

Humble in spirit, champions by nature,

Audrey & Sahnan

Rothwell Report

Hello all Rothwellians!

Term 4 has been packed with events for Rothwell.

It started with leadership day, which was on the 14th of November, where the Rothwell team got a chance to bond, build leadership skills and plan for the year ahead. We were taught how to develop our public speaking skills, improve communication and teamwork within the team as well as how to efficiently plan and layout events, assemblies and more.

We also got our first taste of victory, beating the other 3 houses in the scavenger hunt competition that was run. This win-streak continued, with the Rothwell intermediate debating team securing a first place position in the inter house debating competition, with some inspiring performances put forward by the team.

Rothwell’s Golden Hand award, which is run in Honor of Mr Hand, a Rothwell teacher who had transferred schools in 2023, was given to 2025 year 12 student Ashmi Sarkar. The Golden Hand is an award reserved to celebrate a Rothwell student who shows amazing dedication to the house and the school, applies themselves at the highest level in all facets, academic and extracurricular, and embodies the spirit of the house.

Rothwell also said our goodbyes to our beloved teachers Mr Kelly and Mrs Fenby in our most recent house assembly, as both teachers will be leaving this school in 2025. Both Mr Kelly and Mrs Fenby contributed greatly to the school, Rothwell and most importantly our house spirit, and they will be sorely missed.

Overall, Rothwell has had an excellent term. The new leadership took over the reins from the 2024 leadership team, with some getting their first taste of what it's like to be a Rothwell leader. The intermediate debate team had also secured a victory and set a precedent of what is to come for Rothwell.

With Term 4 coming to a close and the holidays fast approaching - we look forward to what the new year will bring us and hope to lead Rothwell down the path toward winning the house cup.
