Dear St Mary’s community,
During this month of Holy Souls the Parish at St Mary’s has placed a memorial book inside the Church for people to write names of those they wish to pray for this November. If you’re passing through and the Church doors are open please feel free to go to this book to pray for others and to share the names of those you wish to pray for at this time.
Next week there will be a short prayer service over our school speakers in memorial of the soldiers lost at war for Remembrance Day. Our Faith and Social Justice Leaders will lead this service.
Advent is soon approaching and we are asking our students to think about ways to be more giving at Christmas. They have all begun working on carols for the Christmas Carols sing-a-long and have especially worked on a Christmas Carol in Italian ‘A Natale Puoi’ which is about doing more and giving more at Christmas. Soon, we will begin letter writing to various people from our local community and beyond, sharing our love with others. Our Prep-2 students will be writing Christmas cards and/or making decorations for the families of children who received Baptism in our local community. Year 3 and 4 students will write Christmas cards for those who are cared for in the local community, such as those visited by St Vincent De Paul, the Asylum Seekers group and those who are elderly. Year 5 and 6 will write Christmas letters to the students in Remexio East Timor, the same students we communicated with under Heather McGrath’s guidance earlier this year.
