Dear families,
Puberty Family Education with Cath McCallig
Thank you to our Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 families who joined online with Cath McCallig on October 24th. The presentation was both informative and engaging and gave families plenty of opportunity to talk about and understand puberty. Attached below is a range of recommended books and websites from Cath which may provide further conversation starters for you and your child.
Reminder: 2025 Technology Program, 1-to-1 devices in Years 3 to Year 6
We are pleased to continue the 1-to-1 laptop program in Years 3 to 6, where every student in those years will have access to their own computing device for the purposes of education.
Students enrolling into Year 3 in 2025 must order and purchase a new Chromebook through the school before Monday 18th November. The order portal is now open at https://smstkildaeast.orderportal.com.au/
Students enrolling into Year 4, Year 5 or Year 6 in 2025 and who have already purchased a Chromebook will continue to use this device for 2024.
Save the date: MusicCorp recital on Wednesday 20th November 2:30pm
The school will be gathering to listen to the students who study a musical instrument with Ian on Wednesdays. Students will be playing a piece of music each, and all families are welcome.
Walk, ride or scoot to school in the month of November
The school in conjunction with the City of Port Phillip Council are encouraging students to take part in a fun month of walking, riding and scooting to and from school. Students are able to log their activity in class each day of November and there are a few prizes on offer.
Along with the health benefits, active travel reduces traffic congestion, saves on parking, and helps us connect with family and friends. Part of the way is okay! If you can’t walk the whole way, try parking the car a few clocks from the school and walk, ride or scoot the rest.
November and warmer weather is upon us, and now is a good opportunity for all to get involved.
