LOTE
Level 3 – Animals and Numbers
Level 3 students have continued learning animals’ names in Chinese, including some native Australian animals – kangaroo (dài shǔ 袋鼠) and koala (kǎo lā 考拉). We also started learning numbers 11-19 in Chinese. It's wonderful to see their enthusiasm and progress as they build confidence in speaking and understanding the language.
Level 4 – Daily Routines and Leisure Activities
Level 4 students have been expanding their language skills by learning how to talk about daily routines, leisure activities, and sports. They combined their new vocabulary to create their own weekly schedules in Chinese, showcasing their growing confidence and creativity in using the language to represent real-life scenarios.
Level 5 – Countries
Level 5 students have learned countries and nationalities in Chinese. We have learned the Chinese name of Australia (ào dà lì yà 澳大利亚) and China (zhōng guó 中国). Inspired by their curiosity, they also researched the Chinese names of countries they are particularly interested in. This activity has sparked enthusiasm for language learning while broadening their cultural and global awareness.
Level 6 – Chinese Money
Level 6 students have been learning how to express money in Chinese. Students learned asking and responding to the question “duō shǎo qián 多少钱?” (How much money?) in Chinese. They also explored Chinese currency by examining the designs on Chinese dollar notes and researching the iconic scenery featured on them. This engaging activity combined language learning with cultural exploration, enhancing their understanding of China.
