Secondary Sub School News

Dear Secondary Team,

Welcome to Week 7! It’s hard to believe how quickly this term is passing. Our students continue to benefit from a range of enriching learning opportunities, and it’s all thanks to the dedication and hard work you put in each day.

Last week, we had a fantastic excursion with five of our classes visiting Luna Park. It was a wonderful day, and all the students had a great time. A special thank you to Elian and all the staff members who supported the students and helped make the day a success.

Camp 1: Monday, November 25 - 27

Staff attending: Ashley S, Gurminder, and Elizabeth

  • Student Meeting: There will be a meeting for students in the Yaluk building tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9:30 AM to go over camp expectations and routines.

During the camp, we will implement a revised Yard Duty schedule, with Areas 3 and the Gym being closed for these three days. Staff will be redeployed to Areas 4, 5, and 6 to ensure appropriate supervision.

Supervision Reminder:

Please remember that all students outside at any time must be supervised by a staff member. There have been a few instances where students have been left unsupervised for extended periods. Let’s work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students.

Reporting:

Well done to everyone who has made a strong start on their reports. Just a friendly reminder that reports are due by December 9th.

Classroom Team Meetings:

Please continue to meet and work on the Students Profiles. These profiles should be uploaded to Xuno once completed.

PDP Reflections:

As we approach the end of the year, take some time to reflect on your goals and the progress you’ve made. You will have an opportunity to discuss your reflections with your allocated leader, focusing on the successes you’ve experienced so far.

Here are some key dates to remember, I am sure I have missed a few but will add to these as the term goes on.

  • SSG meetings will be starting soon. Please make sure all meeting times are scheduled and that you have the necessary data and goals prepared for discussions with parents. This is an important opportunity to ensure we continue providing support for our students.
  • Group 1 Camp. (Leaving 25/11/24 Back on the 27/11/24)
  • Group 2 Camp (Leaving 04/12/24 Back on the 06/12/24)
  • Year12 Graduation - 6/12/24
  • Curriculum Day – 13th December
  • Last Day of School – 20th December: Students finish at 1:00 pm

Thank you again for all your hard work and commitment to our students. Let’s continue to make this term a great one!
