Remembrance Day

On Monday, our community paused to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience  of those who have served and continue to serve in defense of our freedom. It was a meaningful time of coming together in peace, prayer, respect, and gratitude.

This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of peace, unity, and thankfulness in our everyday lives. As a school community, we reflect on the legacy of the brave men and women who answered the call to protect their country and its people. We hold close the memory of those who did not return and acknowledge the ongoing contributions of service members worldwide.

A heartfelt thank you to Corporal Chad Cooper from the 5th and 6th Battalion of the Royal Victorian Regiment, one of dedicated school dads, and to June, one of our grandmothers, for sharing their experiences and insights with us.

Let us carry forward the message of Remembrance Day: to honor the past, live gratefully in the present, and commit ourselves to a peaceful future.

God of peace you call us to peace,

Peace within and peace without

Peace before us and peace behind us

Peace on our right and peace on our left.

Christ of Peace you call us to peace,

Peace with our brother and with our sister,

Peace with our neighbour and with the stranger

Peace with friends and with foes.

Spirit of peace you call us to peace,

Peace in work and in play

Peace in thought and in deed

Peace in word and action.

Grant us peace, O God of peace.

Amen
