Foundation News

Hello Foundation Families!

  • A huge thank you to those who attended the Foundation Information Session last Thursday. Forging the relationship between home and school is very important and it was a pleasure to share with each of you.
  • Just a reminder that Connect-Ed begins this week.

ConnectEd gives you the opportunity to experience the how and why of what your child learns at MRPS. Each session offers interactive and hands on activities for you, particularly in the areas of Fine Motor Skills, Literacy and Maths.

The purpose of ConnectEd is two-fold. The skills you learn will help you to support your child’s learning at home. The program will also enable you to become a parent helper, where you can volunteer to work in a classroom, should you wish.

  • Foundation Students had their photos taken by The Courier on Tuesday. Keep an eye out for their smiling faces and maybe get their autographs, now that they are famous!
  • Reminder to pack Brain Food for your child each day. This can be servings of fruits, vegetables, cheese or yoghurt. We have an allocated time during each morning session to stop and eat our Brain Food to keep us going till Recess snack time.
  • Reading Eggs and Wushka logins will be sent home in the near future. Keep an eye out for these. You can access these great literacy learning tools at home.
  • Be sure to check your child's blue satchel (reader bag) every day. Inside you will find a school diary, a take-home book to read and any important notes that have been handed out. Please share a reading experience with your child and record it in the diary for the teacher to see. We really appreciate you supporting your child's reading at home.
