Book Club

In Week 4, my fellow English Captains and I held our very own Book Club in the Library,  the first of many for this year! The purpose of hosting Book Club is to invite booklovers of all year levels to share their passion and love for reading with like-minded people. Additionally, we also want to create a sense of belonging and a safe space amongst the school with those who share similar opinions and ideas when it comes to literature, outside of the everyday routine of school life.

During our lunchtime in Week 4, our topic was 'Your Least Favourite Book'. I found it really valuable to have readers from all year levels come along and share their strong opinions and passions towards the books that they truly despised the most.

Our next Book Club will be held on Monday the 25th of March in Week 9, with the theme being the popular cult-classic and nostalgic story of ‘The Hunger Games’.

My fellow English Captains and I are inviting book readers and lovers of all ages and genres to come along and join in on a lively discussion including all things dystopian, post-apocalyptic and the age-old question of Team Gale or Team Peeta (there really is only one answer, let’s be honest… Team Katniss!).

So, bring your lunch and a friend or two along to Library 2 and we hope to see you there!

Your fellow booklover,

Katherine Styles 11B
