VCD Excursion : M Pavilion
Investigating design practice
Last Wednesday we took the Year 12 VCD cohort to visit the latest M Pavillon located at the Queen Victoria Gardens. The architectural work was designed by world renowned Japanese architect Tadeo Ando. Students are using inspiration from this activity to investigate design practice and also to create their own version of M Pavillon.
We all took part in a conversation about the aims of the architect and a visual analysis of the work. This was followed by a workshop where we were encouraged to explore Ando’s method of working with geometric forms to create our own version. The excursion was enjoyed immensely by students and teachers alike!
