2024 School Captains

Introducing our new Captains

We are very excited to be the 2024 School Captains of Northcote High School. This year we are hoping to amplify students' voices from all year levels and put their ideas into action.

I’m Alex Qu, and in the past, I’ve established a recurring first aid certification program for students in year 10. This year, I hope to do more of the same – making opportunities for students to get more out of school. I’m interested in building on our peer support program that guides our junior students and provides our senior students with leadership opportunities. I’m here to get things done, both for the students at the school and for the students to come!

Hi everyone, my name is Yasmin Elsakawy, and I am one of your School Captains for 2024! I would love to continue strengthening student voice at Northcote High & will be here to support our senior students to have a stress-free, exciting final year! I would love to start the discussions about the difficult topics such as mental health, consent, & discrimination so we can find ways to tackle this as a school, making Northcote high a safe & welcoming space for all.

I’m Thea Niall, this year as School Captain, I’m hoping to integrate our lower, middle, and senior school years. I feel this will help create even more of a sense of community here at Northcote.  I also endeavour to give our students here even more access to mental health services and spaces that allow them to feel comfortable. Finally, I aim to be a friendly and approachable face to all students at Northcote and urge them to ask for my assistance with anything!

Hello everyone, my name is Anh Quan Nguyen. I am an international student and School Captain for 2024. My goal this year is to strengthen our community by organising various events such as the house competitions, fundraising, etc. I am open to hearing ideas from students of all year levels and will do my best to make them happen.
