NHS Swimming Carnival

Last Thursday the entire year 7and 8 cohort gathered together at the brand new Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre for the NHS Swimming Carnival. The energy, house spirit and performances in the pool were amazing. It was a fantastic day with many students getting dressed up in house colours and high participation in races all day.

Congratulations to Cooper house taking out first place. Plenty were second, Merri third and Sumner in fourth. We are looking forward to seeing more house spirit on display and the friendly rivalries continuing at the Athletics Carnival later this term!

Senior Volleyball

Interschool Senior Volleyball took place on M at Reservoir High School. NHS had four teams participate in the district tournament.  The Year 11 and 12 Girl’s A team and the Year 12 Boy’s A team, won all their games and made it to Regionals, which will take place later in the year. The Year 11 and 12 Girl’s B team won all of the games, but one – which was a fantastic effort! The Year 11 and 12 Boy’s B team were also a very strong side and only had one loss.  It was an intense and competitive day, and all the teams had a fun! A big thank you to Ms Hales and Pauline for organising everything and ensuring everyone got to their games and correct courts!
