ITALIAN

IDENTITÀ

Over the last few weeks, in keeping with the whole school Inquiry topic of Identity, the students in Prep-Year 6 have been learning how to introduce themselves in Italian.  They have learnt different greetings, what they mean and when to use them in the course of the day.  The students have been very good at using the gestures to help them remember the words in Italian.  We have touched on the numbers to enable them to say how old they are in Italian and I have been very impressed with their efforts and excellent pronunciation. The students in Years 3-6 have begun writing short simple sentences describing some of their physical features such as their hair and eye colour and in the process they have started to see how Italian grammar work.  We are having lots of fun and the children are a pleasure to teach.  Keep up the great work everyone!
