Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

Once again it was wonderful to welcome our prep families to the annual dinner held last Friday. The buzz around the room was tangible and by and large I think everyone got to meet someone different. It was promptly followed up with a welcome mass on Sunday. I suspect my parents enjoyed it as much as anyone, particularly the socialisation afterwards.

Next Friday is the first of our tours for 2025 Prep enrolments. I am looking for parents to accompany me on the tours. If you have time on Friday at 9:15am please let me know.

At the recent Board and P&F meeting I explained a little about how the annual survey results are utilised in formulating our Annual Action Plan (AAP) The AAP was published in the last newsletter and can also be found on our website.

We have tried to break it into three clear and concise areas for improvement so all are aware of what we are targeting and why. The first area is:

1. Relationships (Underpinned by a focus on gathering to pray)

Essentially this relates to ensuring that staff are able to increase their knowledge of our Catholic faith and consequently be more confident in teaching this. I'll unpack the remaining two over the next two newsletters.

Our P&F have started the year with a bang and have a big week next week. The first Dad's Night for the year is a little different as it is being hosted here with a guest speaker. The following day is our colour run.

Our fete committee also kicked off last week with a new look committee and leader. Please remember to contact Lauren Cefai if you want to know more.

Whilst it has been a busy start to the year I feel it has been settled. A parent I was chatting to felt the change to straight grades has helped her child settle back as some of the angst was taken out of the social dynamics. As per usual I am interested in further feedback.

Have a great week,

Duncan
