Library News
From the Co-ordinator of Library
The upcoming break is a wonderful time for students to enjoy some R&R with a great book. Students are welcome to borrow extra books to read during the break. If they need assistance with finding something, the Library staff are more than happy to assist. We also have a Wheelers eBook and AudioBook collection that the students can access via this link or from the Library homepage.
We have noticed an increasing number of books being returned to the Library damaged. Please remind your child(ren) to take care of the books. Books that are returned in a damaged condition need to be replaced. Parents have the option of having this cost added to their account, or purchasing a copy of the same book and sending it in.
'Lunch With The Stars'
On Tuesday 5 September, sixteen Year 5 and 6 students attended 'Lunch With The Stars' (LWTS). Students enjoyed a day of fun, food and fabulous stuff about books! Over twenty children’s authors and illustrators attend each year, sharing their enthusiasm and valuable experiences with young people in Years 5 and 6. Students interacted directly with authors who are seated at their table, asking in-depth questions and seeking answers to the mysteries of the creative process that lead to publication of their favourite books. Our students were lucky enough to sit with Kristen Darrell, Mike Barry and Jules Faber. The students enjoyed asking the authors about their experiences as writers and illustrators and listening to tips about creating their own books. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all.
