Gateways
Over the past two weeks, some of our gifted Junior School mathematicians have taken part in the Term 3 Gateways Program, 'Extreme Maths'. They worked together to solve challenging problems and applied high level skills to achieve amazing outcomes.
The presenters from Gateways had high praise for our students; commending their enthusiasm, their drive to succeed and their support of one another.
Well done to all involved in this wonderful program!
TPHS First Annual Rubiks Cube Competition
Last Thursday and Friday, students came to battle it out in Miss Brennan's room to see who the speediest cuber in the Junior School is! We had some phenomenal cubers...including Mrs Tickle who solved her Rubik's cube with determination and precision.
Our top 3 cubers will go into a finals round this coming Friday during assembly time.
Please wish them luck if you see them!
Maths Olympiad
After four unbelievably challenging papers held over the past 5 months, the Maths Olympiad series has come to an end. We do not know the final placings as yet, but every child involved in this competition should be extremely proud of themselves for their efforts, their persistence and their amazing problem solving skills. Our school is very thankful that you represented us with such determination!
Operation Art 2023
The exceptionally talented Lisa (J5), Julian (P5), Rose (J4) and Harper (J2) represented Pittwater House in this year's Operation Art exhibition with their creative, colourful and captivating artworks!
Thousands of visitors came to experience the opening of the exhibition at Newington Gallery, Sydney Olympic Park, where they were able to view a huge array of artworks from schools across the state. If you would like to view this amazing collection, the Operation Art exhibition is open until Sunday 28 October and is definitely worth a look!
Congratulations to our brilliant artists!
The Fruit Bowl - Lisa (J5)
I used watercolour pencils and a sharpie to create my artwork. I love my patterns, the watermelon and my bird the most.
The Sea Serpent - Julian (P5)
A sea serpent is swimming in the Atlantic, basking in the sun. His accessories show that things aren't always as scarry as they may seem.
Mixed Emotions - Rose (J4)
I chose to create my artwork to represent two conflicting emotions. The warm and cool colours reflect how feelings can change in time.
Stripey The Zebra - Harper (J2)
I created this artwork with my heart and my love. I tried to use happy water coloured paint to help people smile.
