Swimming in term 4

Water Familiarisation Lessons will commence the first week of Term 4 from Friday the 13th October 2023 through to Friday 24th November 2023.

Students will change into their swimmers at school before leaving for the pool, older students may wish to come to school with swimmers on under their uniform. Students will change back into their uniform before they leave the pool.  All students will need to bring a towel and swimmers (and goggles if they wish) in a labelled bag. All items of clothing should also be labelled. This year, entry to the pool is $4.50 for each session and season passes will be accepted. Students will need to bring their money in a labelled envelope or bag.

Hot lunches will run as normal.

Please keep an eye out on Compass for this event containing permission to consent and the questions relating to swimming ability and medical conditions.

Gala Day for Soccer

On Friday the 15th of September, 31 keen soccer players from Years 3 to 6 travelled to Tamworth to participate in the annual Soccer Gala Day. It was wonderful to see so many students attending and to have three teams representing our fabulous school community.

All teams played amazingly well and had some great outcomes. A special mention to a Junior Guyra Green team for winning all of their games and making it to the finals. They unfortunately didn’t progress past this game but they played fantastically and should be so proud of their efforts for making it to that point.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all parents who braved the early start to travel and take their children and help transport others to the event. It is great to have such supportive families to provide the children with these opportunities.  A special thank you to Mitchell Hope and Casey Lennon for coaching teams on the day and giving up their time to train the children, it is greatly appreciated.

All children who participated should be extremely proud of their efforts on the day. They all played their best, worked as a team, supported each other, and showed amazing sportsmanship.  I look forward to hopefully having more participants at next year's event.
