READING
Term 4 we will be focussing on comprehension, retelling and confidently knowing sounds in Reading.
WRITING
In Writing, the students will develop stamina and focus on their letter formations. The students will continue to focus on their spelling at school and their spelling lists they bring home.
We will continue with Show and Share, this activity allows students to focus on speaking and listening skills.
MATHS
Term 4 our major focus is Number and Place Value. We encourage students to use the Mathletics program at home to practice their skills they have been learning in class.
INQUIRY
The big question the students will be responding to is, what is the difference between living and non-living?
In week 5 on Tuesday the 31st of October, we will be heading to Werribee Open range zoo, to celebrate the end of our unit on Animal Habitats. While there, we will participate in an education session, explore the park and go on a safari which should make for a really fun day.

Grade Prep Specialist Subjects Overview
P.E
Students will be focusing on the skill of dribbling by hand. Additionally, they will be introduced to the games that will feature in our Tabloid Sports Day at the end of the year. Get ready for a lot of fun as they refine their hand-eye coordination and teamwork! To complete the term students will participate in our water safety program at Ocean Grove Aquatic.
ART
This term our students will be exploring printmaking and choice-based activities. They will be experimenting with rubbings, printing with found objects, creating architectural images, as well as learning to plan, prepare, create and display their own individual artworks. Students looking at the work of Jasper Johns, Pieter Brueghel and Vermeer.
S.T.E.M
Students continue to explore our edible garden by planting their own sunflower seeds and looking at the life cycle of a plant. Students will learn about the sun and how it helps plants grow. They will also be learning more about our local environment by finding out about hooded plovers and other native animals that live at the beach. Students will also explore ways to care for and protect our local areas.
MUSIC
This term in music students in foundation will be continuing to sing and play instruments to practise chants, songs, rhythms and rhymes. They are also learning about presenting, performing and how movement can express ideas to match songs. We are looking forward to working on a folk dance together which we can perform to some special members of our school community.
