Year 7 

Moving into the second half of the term, it has been great to see our Year 7 students positively transition into their high school routines. During Term 2 they will begin to explore the theory unit ‘The best version of me’, looking at positive body image and changes their bodies may face during this time. Outside the classroom, they will be introduced to various team sports and work on developing their fundamental movement skills.  

Year 8 

Year 8 have completed their Athletics practical component of the course and will begin to participate in ‘Modified Games’. These can include small sided games, variation of rules and changing of match equipment. Inside the classroom Year 8 students are looking at making healthy choices regarding both physical activity and food options. The content covered during this time will be assessed during an examination early next term.  

Year 9  

Inside the classroom Year 9 classes have begun a mental health unit, investigating different types of mental health and mental illnesses. Students will explore and investigate resources and services available to people their age in the area and develop strategies to assist them in time of need. During practical lessons, Year 9 have begun the 'Invasion Games' unit where they will take part in various sports such as oztag, soccer and basketball. 

Year 10 

Year 10 students are finalising their Guide to a 'Good Night Out' unit, exploring safe partying. Students will begin learning about Road Safety through the 'Arrive Alive' unit. Outside the classroom, they are currently working on their Net/Court Assessment task, participating and developing skills through netball, basketball and volleyball. 

Year 9 and 10 PASS 

Year 9 PASS have begun exploring 'Australia’s Sporting Identity', investigating major sporting moments and personalities over time. Year 10 PASS have started their 'Coaching' unit, where they will be required to create a training session for their selected sport and present it to the remainder of the class.
