We are excited to launch the Year 7 Roll Call Reading Program this term—a new initiative that forms part of Camden High School’s broader commitment to literacy development across all faculty areas. This program compliments other engaging activities such as our Student vs Teacher Book Battles and Creative Writing Competition.
As part of the program, each Year 7 roll call class will visit the library once a fortnight during roll call. During this time, students will have the chance to enjoy a book of their choice—whether it’s a favourite author, a new series, or an unfamiliar genre. Students are welcome to bring a book from home or borrow one from the school library. Additionally, our School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) will be available to read with students who may benefit from extra support.
To help students track their reading, each will receive a bookmark and be encouraged to complete at least one book review each term.

Students in Years 7 and 9 who diligently completed their NAPLAN tests were treated to a well-deserved Zooper Dooper reward on the last day of Term 1.
Congratulations to all students who applied themselves and gave their best effort across the four tests: Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language, and Numeracy. Your hard work and focus are commendable, and we look forward to celebrating your results when they are released.
Well done!
Last term, we hosted two information sessions for families interested in the 2026 Year 7 Enrichment Class. These sessions provided an overview of the Enrichment Class and the broader High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) opportunities available at CHS.
Students currently enrolled in the Year 7 and Year 8 Enrichment classes shared their experiences across a range of subjects, giving families valuable insight into the learning environment and available opportunities. Our school captains also spoke about the pathways they are now pursuing as a result of their participation in the Enrichment and HPGE programs.
Applications for the 2026 Enrichment Class have now closed. Families will be notified of the outcome by 13th June 2025.
