CELEBRATING OUR VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN KINDER

By Kirsty Meese (Kinder Director)

Our Kinder students have been busy preparing to celebrate their Very Important People — and what a special time it’s been!

We kicked off our celebrations by creating heartfelt cards, carefully crafted by little hands full of love.

Then, on Thursday, excitement filled the air as our Four-Year-Old Kinder students arrived clutching purses, wallets, envelopes, and sealable bags filled with coins and notes. It was time to visit the V.I.P. Stall! For many of our students, this was a big milestone — making their own gift choices and paying for them independently. With the wonderful support of “Shop Keeper David,” each child confidently selected the perfect present for their V.I.P. and practiced important skills like counting money and making decisions. What a proud moment for all!

The joy continued on Monday as the Kinder foyer was transformed into a café. Students eagerly set the scene with tablecloths, doilies, vases of flowers, drink slips, and pens — ready to welcome their special guests. With great excitement, they greeted their Very Important People, guided them to their tables, helped them fill out drink slips, and took orders to the kitchen. They even made sure their guests received a biscuit before getting one for themselves — a true act of kindness and patience that can be quite a task for a four-year-old!

It was a delight to see the children beam with pride as they shared this experience with their special visitors. We are so grateful to everyone who came along to make it memorable.

We’re already looking forward to our next V.I.P. Kinder Café later in the year!

EXPLORING FUTURES: Year 11 Students Attend Try A Trade Career Expo

By Chauntelle Wolfaardt (Pathways Team)

As part of National Careers Week the YR11 students attended the SELLEN Try A Trade Career Expo where they were able to try out different trades, talk to employers and find out about tertiary courses all under one roof at KCC Park.  Along with many students from other schools, our students enjoyed the ADF trucks on display and they were able to talk to personnel from the ADF, Victoria Police, the Suburban Rail Loop, among many other industries.

Students in 2025 have many options once they leave school including trades and traineeships, TAFE or University courses, as well as employment in jobs that are new and emerging.

We hope that this excursion has given our students some insight into what is possible and the variety of future careers.
