To integrate our Inquiry and Education in Faith lessons we will be placing an emphasis on learning about stories from the Bible that feature water. Some of these stories will include Jesus Walks on Water, Jesus Calms the Storm, Noah's Ark, Water into Wine and the Baptism of Jesus. Water is such an important element within the Bible, so we will look at it's symbolism and importance in different ways. This will also tie in with the Catholic Social Teaching of Preferential Option for the Poor. As the term progresses, we will begin to explore the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
This week we are learning about length and area. We have been estimating and measuring objects in our classroom using formal units of measurements.
In Writing, the students have been learning about Information Reports. They are developing their skills in researching, planning, and organising facts into clear paragraphs with subheadings. As part of this unit, students have been reading and researching about the Great Barrier Reef. They have been identifying key facts about its location, animals, threats, and importance, and are using this information to draft their own reports.
We’d like to wish all the mums, grandmothers, and special women in our lives a very Happy Mother’s Day. We appreciate everything you do and hope you enjoy a relaxing day spent with family and loved ones. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us!
Kind regards,
Mrs. Debbie Terry and Miss Becc
