Welcome Back to Term 2!
This week in Miss Tamara's Mathematics, we have launched a new unit on Measurement. Students are developing their understanding of how to compare and order objects based on different attributes such as length and mass.
Through hands-on activities using everyday classroom objects, students are exploring ways to measure using informal units like string, paper strips, and balance scales. They are learning to describe and compare objects using terms such as shorter than, longer than, heavier than, and lighter than.
We are encouraging students to solve real-world problems by estimating, measuring, and explaining their thinking using clear mathematical language. It's been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they make discoveries and share their reasoning with their peers.
We look forward to continuing this unit as students become more confident in measuring and comparing the world around them!
This term, we are focusing on sustainability and how we can best look after God's creation. The students enjoyed making a poster this week, teaching people how they can take care of the environment.
Wishing a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums, grandmas, and special women in our school community. Your love, care, and support mean the world to your children and to us. We hope you feel celebrated and appreciated—not just today, but every day!
