For ANZAC Day this year, we made acrostic poems with the word ANZAC. We explored what this special day meant and if any students in our class had any family members who had served. We found that many families had people who had served in the military, some from Australia and some from other countries around the word.
This term we have had a fantastic start to our Wildlife Warriors unit, with all students being super engaged. So far we have learnt about what sustainability means and ways that we can help take care of our planet. We are now starting to learn about animal adaptations and what organisms do behaviourally, structurally, and physiologically to survive in a number of habitats. This links in with our Ed in Faith, as we start to understand what it means to be stewards of God's creation. Simply put, this means to take care of our common home, which is Earth.
Last week we had a number of students in our class represent St. Francis Xavier at the District Athletics Carnival. As a school and class we had some great results, all students who participated had a great day.
Just a quick reminder that school photos are next Tuesday (13th of May). I ask that you try your best to have children/grandchildren at school before the bell at 8:45. I will only be at school for our school photo at 9am, because I have my graduation ceremony that same day.
Happy Mother's Day for this weekend!
Regards,
Mr Will & Miss Yvette
