Saint Francis Xavier - Principal's Report

Term 2 - Week 3

Dear Parents and Friends of St Francis Xavier,

As we approach Mother's Day, I want to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and special women who are such an important part of our school community. Our students are truly lucky to be surrounded by women who guide, nurture, and support them with such love, strength, and wisdom each day. Whether it’s through a warm hug at drop-off, helping with homework, or volunteering at school events, your presence and care make a lasting difference. On behalf of all of us at school, thank you for everything you do — we hope you feel celebrated and appreciated this Mother’s Day.

Community Engagement

Over the past weeks, we’ve seen some wonderful opportunities to strengthen our connections within the local community. Last Tuesday, a group of our students visited Montague Park Pre-School to run engaging and educational activities with the 4-year-old kinder group, focusing on sustainability and composting. As part of the visit, our students also helped the kinder children set up their very own worm farm, supported with equipment provided by our school. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved—our students loved sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm, and the kinder children were excited to get hands-on with their new worm farm. It’s heartening to see our students leading the way in sustainability while building strong, meaningful relationships beyond our school gates.

School Photos

School photos are scheduled for this Tuesday, May 13th. Please ensure that all students arrive at school on time, as photos will be taken at the beginning of the day. Students should wear their full summer uniform on the day.  Year 6 students may wear their jackets.

School Closure Day

A final reminder that this Monday 12th May is a school closure day, as staff will be participating in Professional Learning sessions throughout the day.

There will be one more school closure day in Term 2, which take place on Tuesday 10th June.

NCCD

I have attached an information sheet for all families to read through. It has been issued by MACS, explaining school funding for students with additional needs.

Please have a read through, and should you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact either our Learning Diversity Leader, Ms. Erin, or myself.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone and make sure that all our wonderful mums get super spoilt!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
