Connecting in the Kitchen

Parent Cooking Program Thursdays 10am to 12pm

We are 3 weeks in to our Connecting in the Kitchen Program for parents.  We have had a lot of interest and we really appreciate you spending time with us and making the most of this opportunity.

 

Here is a quick look at what we have been cooking:

 

 

Week 1, Connecting in the Kitchen

We cooked Brazilian Cheese Bread with Chimichurri sauce.

There were many comments about how amazing the bread was and a few participants have even tried making this at home with great results.  Why not give it a try!

 

Week 2, Glenis ran a session where participants cooked Apple Shortcake.  

We have a few sweet treat ideas for week 4.

 

Week 3, Connecting in the Kitchen

On the menu, Ricotta Gnocchi with Vegan Pesto

We learned so many interesting tips from our Professional Cook, Hind from Cultivating Communities.  The Gnocchi recipe can be changed by replacing the  ricotta with sweet potato, potato or a combination of both.  Also with making Gnocchi you worked the dough slowly and you don't knead it like bread.  This keeps the Gnocchi very light and fluffy.
