Wellbeing at HPS in Term 2

There are a lot of exciting things happening in the wellbeing space at HPS in Term 2!
Respectful Relationships Term 2
This term at HPS, all year levels will be continuing to work through topics in the Respectful Relationships program. The Respectful Relationships program is a government initiative that supports schools and early childhood settings to promote and model respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
The materials cover eight social and emotional learning topics to support the delivery of respectful relationships content through the Victorian curriculum. The resources support a whole school approach to creating equal and respectful attitudes, behaviours, structures and practices across the school culture and ethos.
Each year level will be completing a range of social and emotional learning activities on Thursday afternoons at 2:30pm. The topics we will cover in Term 2 are:
- Personal and Cultural Strengths
- Positive Coping
- Problem Solving

E-Safety
Throughout Term 2, students will be participating in a range of engaging tasks designed to promote safer internet use. These age-appropriate activities will equip students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. Students will explore important topics such as protecting personal information, creating strong passwords, recognising and responding to cyberbullying, understanding digital footprints, and evaluating the reliability of online information. Through interactive lessons, discussions, role-plays, and digital citizenship challenges, students will develop a deeper understanding of how to make positive choices online, how to seek help when needed, and how to contribute to a respectful and supportive online community.
Students in Year 3-6 will also be participating in a ThinkUKnow presentation, delivered by the Australian Federal Police. ThinkUKnow is a national, evidence-based program that aims to help young people stay safe online by providing education around respectful online behaviour and knowing what to do when something doesn’t feel right.

Attitudes to School Survey
Later this term, students in Years 4–6 will take part in the Attitudes to School Survey. This survey allows students to share their thoughts about their wellbeing, engagement, and overall connection to school. Their feedback is important in helping us understand their experiences and how we can continue to support them to thrive. In addition, this week we are conducting school-wide wellbeing surveys with all students to gain early insights into how they are feeling. The results from these surveys will help guide our wellbeing programs and initiatives throughout the year, ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and connected at school.
We are very excited for all the programs that students will be completing this term. Talking to your child about their wellbeing is a great way to support what we are doing at school. Stay tuned for more initiatives and updates throughout the term!
