Carparking Reminder
We have recently received feedback about parking issues around Gregory Street and Bayview Terrace. To maintain good relationships with our neighbours and local businesses, please remember to park only in designated areas, ensure you are not blocking driveways, follow all signs and respect time limits.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as we aim to keep our whole community safe.
Mother’s Day Stall Thank you
Thank you very much to Courtney Norris and her team of volunteers for the huge amount of work that was completed before, during and after the Mother’s Day Stall. We have had so much positive feedback about the quality of gifts and the organisation of the Stall. I hope all our mother figures had a very special Sunday.
Britton Shield Cross Country and Andrews Cup Cross Country
Congratulations to our Years 2 to 6 students who participated in their respective competitions on Friday 9 May and Monday 12 May. All students are to be commended on their commitment and effort to their training leading up to the competitions.
Both teams achieved outstanding results:

- Andrews Cup Cross Country Team - 1st Percentage Cup
Thank you to Amy Lewin for her wonderful organisation and training opportunities offered by coaches in the weeks leading up to the events.

Winter Uniform Reminder
Please note the following requirements for Winter uniform which is worn in the Primary School in Terms 2 and Term 3. Students in the Primary School are welcome to wear either option of Summer or Winter as we acknowledge the differences in weather conditions over the first few weeks of the term.
Pre-Prep
The College tracksuit or navy fleecy jumper may be worn on top of the Pre-Prep uniform.
Prep to Year 6
Students may wear the College navy knee length socks or navy stockings with their formal uniform. Only stockings and socks purchased through the Uniform Shop will be acceptable.
Year 6 students who choose to wear the long College trousers, must wear the College navy socks. The College jumper or vest may be worn with the formal uniform. The College tracksuit or navy fleecy jumper may be worn on HPE days only.
Please could all parents check that green accessories for hair longer than collar length are used, and earrings are either a small pearl, gold or silver plain stud or small sleeper.
Under 8s Day Activities
Our Pre-Prep to Year 3 students look forward to exploring their scientific thinking through play during school on Friday 16 May in Lessons 1 and 2. Our teachers and support staff have prepared a wonderful selection of play activities for the morning and look forward to sharing photos on Class Dojo afterwards. Students are invited to come to school in their HPE uniforms for the day.
National Road Safety Week
National Road Safety Week
T...T...Transport has been a focus this week in Pre-Prep in recognising National Road Safety Week. This initiative encourages all Australians to reflect on how we can contribute to safer roads. To their joy and delight, Pre-Prep students were able to bring their scooters and bikes to school today and park outside the primary office, where they hunted for their names in personalised parking bays.
The Amphitheatre was transformed into a network of roads for the children to drive on. They practised following the lines, reading the signs, slowing down and carefully checking left and right for oncoming traffic and pedestrians before moving forward.
OSHC Carpark
It has come to our attention that some parents of lower Primary students are using the OSHC carpark outside Prep for morning and afternoon drop-offs and pick-ups. Could we please ask you to respect that this carpark is reserved for the use of staff and families attending the Children First OSHC facility.
Captains’ Initiatives
At the start of the year the Primary Captains decided they wanted to bring in a special award which embodies their theme: Defy gravity, reach for the stars. The Shooting Star Award recognises a student (one per grade/once per year) who has overcome challenges and made significant growth in a learning area.
Over the last two assemblies we have recognised the first two deserving recipients: Lainey Madders (Year 6) and Charli Simpson (Year 5). It is hoped that the special star pin they are awarded, will be visual reminder inspiring others to work towards their personal best and reach for the stars.
With Arts Day coming up at the end of this term, the House Captains have been busy in recent weeks, choreographing a dance routine to teach to their house. House time is a wonderful cross-grade opportunity for students to connect with peers and partake in house spirit. On Tuesday afternoons (Week A) this term, the houses will be focussed on refining their steps and finding their rhythm, in preparation for an ‘Inter-house Dance Competition’ on Arts Day.
