Walk and Wheel Wednesdays
Featuring: Ellery in FKJ wheeling to school
Now we are moving into more wintery weather it is important to remember that you can also bring an umbrella and wear a rain jacket. In week 3 we had sensational walking weather. We had 44% of the entire school walking or wheeling to school. Congratulations to our winners for the week 4JK with 63% and 4JX with 57% and 4JT with exactly 50%.
Walk and Wheel Wednesdays have so many benefits including:
If you live far away or the weather is not ideal for walking, your family can park the car close by and walk part of the way to school.
Wheeling can include various modes of transport including bike, scooter, skateboard, and unicycle. There will be an award for the class with most walkers and wheelers in Junior School (Foundation- Grade 2) and Middle/Senior School (Grades 3- 6)
Please remember if you are riding to school, that once you arrive at the gates to get off and walk your bike to the bike storage area. Orlando (6HR) rides his bike to school daily to keep himself healthy. In this picture above he is demonstrating how he walks his bike through the school.
Colin in 4JX has created a sensational detailed drawing with a lovely poem
School is fun.
School is cool.
Come with me and walk to school in the sun and in the rain.
It doesn’t matter what the weather is.
It just gets better and better and sometimes it gets wetter and wetter.
So come with me to school.
Spectacular poem by Una in Grade 2.
The “Walk and Wheel” Art Gallery has re-opened. Please send any drawings or poems to 6HR so that we can celebrate our budding artists.
