In the Classroom -

Lots of great learning has been taking place in the last few weeks, across all year levels, at BPPS! Our Junior School students have begun their unit on ball handling skills - with the Foundation students focussing on the core techniques associated with underarm throwing while our Year 1 and 2 students have spent the last few weeks developing their catching skills. In the older years, as part of their respective units on 'wall and net' sports, our students from 3-6 have had a focus on tennis in the past fortnight. This has included analysis of the foundational skills associated with both the forehand and backhand strokes, as well as more in depth consideration of tennis rules and strategies. Well done to all of our students for bringing such a positive attitude to their learning over the past two weeks!

Year 5/6 Downball Competition -

This week, the yard has been abuzz at lunchtimes, as we have progressed through the various rounds of the Year 5/6 downball competition. Taking on a doubles format, we had 32 teams enter the competition and it was great to see so many students of varying degrees of downball experience get involved and participate. While the much fancied Team Roast (Miss Roast and Mr. Roast) didn't put up too much of a fight in their matches, congratulations to our top four teams, that are listed below:

  • 1st - Eric Wang and Nathan So
  • 2nd - Alex Feng and Ethan Barr/Edwin Lin
  • 3rd - Luca Aliotta and Zavier Lee
  • 4th - Fred Ma and Matthew Tam

Finally, once again I would like to thank the Health Pillar Leaders, for their exceptional support in refereeing and scoring the games, ensuring that the competition was able to run so successfully.

Get ready Year 3 and 4 students, because it is your turn next - with the Middle School downball tournament expected to start off in Week 6 of term.

Thanks for reading!
