Girls Football

On March 26th, for the first time ever, Moriac Primary School were represented with an All Girls Squad at Girls Football Lightning Premiership. Throughout the day, each girl demonstrated an outstanding attitude and a team-first approach. 

Over the 5 games, our girls developed their skills, played with great sportsmanship whilst always taking on feedback from School Coach and former Modewarre Ruckman Zali Miller. 

 

SSA District Cross Country

On March 25th 50 students from Moriac PS headed off to Eastern Gardens, Geelong for this year's District Cross Country. Students competed in either the 2km or 3km event around the Gardens. During the day we had a number of students run great times and all students should be congratulated on their effort and attitude. 

The following students were successful in reaching the Top 10 for their age group. Olivia Kahle, Harvey Didomenico, Darius Giles, Frances Naylor, Evie Jones and Izzy Courtney, Lennox Giles, Archie Didomenico, Mackie McPhee, Harry Fields, Cooper Graham, Kaitlyn Dunbabin, Iluka Patterson, Ava McAdam. From here, the Top 8 will progress to the SSA Division Carnival. 

 

SSA Division Tennis

On Thursday May 18th Georgia Menzies represented Moriac PS at this year's Division Tennis Carnival at The Geelong College. Playing the singles event, Georgia was placed in the Group A side of the draw against students from around Geelong and Melbourne.       An outstanding effort to have progressed to this stag

 

All Girls Milo Cricket 

Towards the end of Term 1 our All Girls cricket clinic wrapped up. It was so pleasing to see up to 15 of our girls take up the 6 week clinic. 

 

Dates to remember:

School Athletics: On Wednesday May 1st, 5/6 students head to Landy Field for this year’s District Athletics Carnival. Throughout the last few weeks of PE, students have been trialling for teams and training for all events that they will be participating in on the day. 

Division Cross Country: Tuesday May 14th. Students who finished in the Top 8 in each age group head to Eastern Gardens for this year's Cross Country . 

May Madness: During the month of May, House Leaders will be conducting a Month of Sport Madness. 

From next week a different sport will be run each week for all year levels. House points will be awarded to each participant as well as any team winners. The sports include, netball, basketball, down-ball and soccer. This will take place during lunch time each day.
