Year 5/6

We have had a very busy start to Term 2 in our 5/6 Community, visiting Grovedale Secondary College for a transition day, GRIP Leadership Conference for our leaders, SSA Athletics and we have many other activities on the agenda throughout the term.

English

Over the last three weeks in English, students have been analysing and writing different forms of poetry, including Haikus, Limericks and Concrete Poems. This has culminated in the students writing their on poetry books on a theme of their choice, which they will then read to some of our Prep students.

Visit to Grovedale College

On Thursday the 18th of April, our 5/6 students were fortunate enough to visit Grovedale College to get a sneak peak on how life in a secondary school operates. They were able to experience different subjects such as Sports Academy, Woodwork, Science and Art. It was a wonderful experience for the students and a helpful insight into the next stage of their schooling.
