Performing Arts
Students have been participating in lots of fun and engaging drama activities. We have been focusing on voice, facial expression, movement and space to imagine and act out roles and situations.
Students have been communicating verbally by using their voice and non-verbal communication, improvising with the shape of their face and the pitch and strength of their voice. They enjoyed an activity where they had a gibberish conversation with their partner.
Students have been acting out specific scenes and sharing their drama with peers. They have also been experiencing drama as audiences whilst expressing what they enjoy and why.
Grade 5/6s have been busy working on the 5/6 Production. Students are learning lots about how a production all comes together in a collaborative, fun and engaging way.
Groups of students have worked hard in their own time to choreograph the dances for the production, all students were able to offer feedback and the students have now begun teaching the class.
Students are also learning about acting, design, directing and a host of other disciplines connected with the world of theatre.
