College Principal Report
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we progress through the school year, I want to emphasise the critical importance of regular attendance for our students. Being at school every day is vital for their academic success, social development, and overall well-being. Each day presents new learning opportunities that help students build a strong foundation for their future.
I also want to remind everyone to drive safely and obey traffic rules, especially around the school premises. Ensuring the safety of our students and families is our top priority, and we all play a role in maintaining a secure environment for our community and providing positive examples for our students.
In our last newsletter, I highlighted our core values of respect, diversity, and excellence. I will typically refer to these as our values continue to guide our community and are integral to creating a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Respect fosters a supportive atmosphere, diversity enriches our learning experiences, and excellence drives us to achieve our best in all endeavours.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is the excitement and energy I see around each campus in my interactions with students. Whether it’s observing the dedication in a Year 10 maths class where students are collaboratively solving complex problems, or witnessing the creativity and passion in the art classes, it is clear that our students are engaged and motivated. These positive interactions are a testament to a positive school culture. A culture that we are continuously looking at ways to improve, whether through the introduction of lunch time activities or our processes for supporting students.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are currently reviewing our timetable to find ways to further enhance student outcomes, for all students. Our focus is on improving academic, social, and engagement outcomes, as well as literacy and numeracy skills. We aim to promote student choice and agency and to place a stronger emphasis on careers education. By doing so, we hope to better prepare our students for their future pathways and ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. Together, we can and continue to make a positive difference in our students' lives.
