SPOTLIGHT ON MUSIC
BY HANNAH DENNY (HEAD OF MUSIC)
God’s creation of music is a beautiful gift, enjoyed by those producing and by those listening. Indeed all participants were able to partake in both aspects over the two days of CSEN Music. Held at Burrinja Theatre our students sung in the primary or secondary choir, or played in the concert band. With a BHCS strong audience, there was much appreciation of the efforts of our students. Already students are eager to attend again next year. There are always things on the go in the music department. With multiple ensembles on offer, instrumental lessons, external and internal performances and the Soiree in June, there are many ways for your child to be involved. Please contact me if you have questions about anything Music Department related.
Mrs Hannah Denny
Being a part of CSEN music this year and many years before has brought me many laughs and memories. There is a sense of belonging and joy within the senior choir, fostering amazing experiences singing alongside others. The friendships I have formed each year are so encouraging, inspiring me to go for solos and perform other items. Seeing everything come together in the performance after two days of rehearsing is thrilling and exciting but nothing beats the memories and friendships made there.

I really enjoyed meeting other people from other schools and singing with them. Singing is new for me and all the other students and teachers made me feel really comfortable, they were super encouraging and fun. The performance in the evening was the best! It was a big thrill to stand on stage in front of so many families and friends - I hope we can do this again!
Lilia L - Year 5 student
CSEN is a fantastic event. As a member of a band with only a few instruments, being able to hear and play with every part being filled out was an engaging and rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to improve my skills in working with other musicians and figuring out how to best complement their playing. I am grateful that I was able to participate.
Hudson E - Year 9 student
We were delighted to see all the performances that took place on the day by many schools. Everyone performed so well. We were so proud of Akil performing at the event with his talent too. We thank all the teachers and schools who provided and supported all these children with this opportunity. It is such an honour for the children to represent their school showcasing their talent to a big audience. Looking forward to another fantastic performance next year.
