Cocurricular

What a joy it was to hear our graduating students speak at the various Valedictory events last week. An often repeated thread was one of gratitude, for each other, families, the School and opportunities. It did not go unnoticed that often the memories that stick with our students are ones forged outside of the classroom. Term Four will be a busy term providing these opportunities for our students.

Recently, some of our Year Eleven students attended the RAC Project Road Smart held at the AEC. This was a confronting presentation where a realistic depiction of a road traffic accident was presented. Students who attended reported that hearing the stories from victims of road trauma was an incredibly powerful experience for them.

As I write this article we have Year Eleven Outdoor Education students on the Bibbulmun Track, facing challenges of heavy winds, long treks and preparing sand-free meals. We wish them the best as they make incredible memories.

We have some fantastic International travel opportunities in 2024 as well.

Year Twelve – Leavers Service Tour to Vietnam (Save the Dates)

On Tuesday morning I met with the Year Eleven cohort to introduce this tour. It is exciting to be able to re-introduce a Leavers Tour after a long absence due to COVID. Expected dates of travel are Thursday 21 November 2024 to Thursday 28 November 2024, immediately following the conclusion of ATAR examinations. We look forward to sharing full information shortly, and hosting an information evening on Thursday 9 November 2023.
