St A's Sports Report

In this week's sports report we would like to recognise all the awesome efforts and hard work from all of our grade 5/ 6 students who have competed in either the Girls AFL team, Boy’s Basketball team and all students who competed in the John Paul College Lightning Premiership.

In week one on Friday 6th of October, 18 of our 5/ 6 girls traveled to Baxter Park to compete in the District AFL Day. It was a massive day that involved our team playing in 7 twenty minute matches. All girls should be incredibly proud of their efforts. They were faced with challenging weather conditions and stayed positive and competitive throughout the entire day finishing the day 3rd overall in Division 1!

We would also like to congratulate our 5/ 6 boys basketball team who competed in the Peninsula Division Basketball carnival on Tuesday 17th of October. It was a tough day with the team losing two games, however all team members should be incredibly proud of their efforts and determination throughout the entire day!

We have had a busy start to term 4 so far with students from prep to grade 2 beginning cricket and our grade 3-6 students participating in the Bike Ed programme, where they will now commence cricket also. It has been an awesome start to term for 4 students participating in a new sport and I’m excited to see what’s to come in the remainder of this term!

Go St A’s!

Congratulations to Albert on his tremendous effort at the regional athletic carnival, coming 3rd overall in the long jump!
