'BLUEBERRIES & BEETROOT'

Who doesn't  love blueberries?? They seem to be everwhere at the moment and are so healthy for us.

We used blueberries in the kitchen this week to create both a sweet and a savoury dish. We made delcious blueberry muffins and we used the blueberries in a salad too.

I absolutely LOVE hearing this from the students!!

The salad on our menu was a roast beetroot and blueberry sald. It included red onion, salad green and feta. Along with a tangy lemon dressing, it was really delicious.

One of the year 5 boys commented that

"this is the best saald I have ever eaten!"

WE talked about the "things"that grandparents like and decided that a cup of tea or coffee was high on their list, so we made a "TEA-CUP" biscuit in preparation for the day. The grade Preps did an amazing job with this task! And they look super cute too!!

SPRING

Lots of rain has helped our spring produce to take off.  We've been able to harvest beautiful broccoli, spinach, silverbeet & Lettuces to cook in our kitchen with.

Our Preps have had a great time learning all about worms and how wonderful they are for our garden.  We munched up fruit scrapes from our classrooms and fed them and by using newspapers as blankets we keep our worms wet and dark. Perfect homes for worms.

We went on a discovery adventure to see if we could find any similiar creatures to Mr Toad from our recent school production.  Of course we were on the look out for our own local frogs in our pond.

We didnt find any local frogs, but we did find a few differnt water creatures along the way.  Hopefully our next visit will bring Mr. Frog.

Some days when it rains alot you still need to get out for food.
