Australian Geography Competition

Our Geography students from Years 7 to 10 tested their skills and knowledge against students from all around Australia. Over 65,000 students from 700 schools across Australia entered the competition so the results give us an external benchmark as to how our students are going in certain aspects of geography.

The competition is a joint initiative of the Australian Geography Teachers’ Association and the Royal Geographical Society of Queensland. It aims to encourage student interest in geography and to reward student excellence.

The performance of our students was commendable – as always. We have a number of student geographers at our school who performed to a very high level in the competition this year with 1 in the top 1% in their Year Level across Australia, 9 gaining high distinctions, 6 gaining distinctions, and 12 credits.
